Design System for Apple News+ (2020)
OPPORTUNITY
Expanding to Apple News+ presented an opportunity to unify the digital presence of brands like Vogue, GQ, and The New Yorker while maintaining their distinct visual identities. By creating a flexible framework, we could simplify editorial workflows and establish a scalable solution for content creation across platforms.
CHALLENGE
Designing a system that balanced the unique character of each brand with the standardization required by Apple News+ required careful consideration. The framework needed to maintain brand consistency while enabling efficient content updates and reducing reliance on additional editorial input.
RESULTS
The resulting design system provided reusable templates and components that preserved each brand’s distinct aesthetic while streamlining content production. This scalable framework reduced maintenance requirements, simplified editorial workflows, and enabled consistent, high-quality content across Apple News+. It set a foundation for future platform expansions, reinforcing Condé Nast’s leadership in premium digital publishing.
